POSITION SUMMARY: Madison County Public Schools is seeking a School Nutrition Assistant for Madison County High School.


REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Able to follow oral and written direction.
• Must be able to work under pressure.
• Ability to grasp and adjust to new and changing situations.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with other employees and staff.
• Must be able to lift 40-pound cases when working in storage areas.
• Must be willing to wear appropriate apparel while working, such as; hairnet or cap covering hair; and leather closed-toe, non-skid shoes.
• Uses discretion in matters of confidentiality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of assigned foods served for breakfast and lunch to meet USDA program requirements.
• Prepares and serves hot and cold food to students and staff.
• Responsible for cleaning kitchen and maintaining food production equipment according to sanitary regulations.
• Makes sure all food is stored properly.
• Attends all in service training and workshops.
• Maintains high standards of sanitation and personnel safety in the cafeteria.
• Must be neat in appearance and follow good personal hygiene rules necessary in a foodservice environment.
• Takes and records temperatures of food items.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with experience: 10 month, 182 contract days, 6 ½ hours/daily. A benefit package is available to include sick leave, personal leave, Virginia Retirement System, and partial payment for health insurance.
